Business partners Greg Valentine and Troy Wink are Chartered Accountants with extensive accounting, taxation and financial planning knowledge. Combined, they have more than 50 years experience dealing with the needs and objectives of small to medium sized businesses.

Together, Greg and Troy are at the forefront of VBD, ensuring absolute quality of work, efficiency and timeliness in productivity and striving to set an ever-increasing benchmark in standard of service and outcomes.

As Novocastrians, Greg and Troy are also committed to our local community. This support includes the running of an annual golf day from which all proceeds are donated to charity. But the support doesn’t stop there. Greg and Troy are also out there - visiting you, observing your business in action and suggesting ways in which you can further develop your business beyond just the numbers. They are truly committed to building your business.

Greg Valentine
Partner

Greg is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants with over 35 years experience in providing business advisory solutions. He has helped hundreds of clients to build their businesses and plan for their business succession whilst ensuring their assets are always protected. Greg has also completed his Diploma of Financial Planning to ensure clients are looked after in the area of wealth accumulation. 

Prior to starting his own businesses he worked overseas as a manger for a large UK accounting firm, working closely with major international corporations. Greg understands the workings of major corporations and is able to bring this knowledge to SME clients.

As the founder of the business known today as VBD Chartered Accountants he understands the pressures and enjoyment that a business brings to its owners.

Greg has always been aware of the partnership that develops between a business advisor and client and is often asked to join regular monthly board meetings to ensure that clients are consistently achieving their goals.

This partnership with clients is so important that in the mid 1990’s the business adopted the tag line “Building your business is our business” and this is ingrained in VBD’s philosophy today.

Troy Wink
Partner

Troy is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountant as well as being a tax agent and justice of the peace he has worked in and on businesses for over 20 years in both commerce and public practice. 

He is the treasurer of both Business Charlestown Incorporated and the Lake Macquarie Business Club he is also a member of the Newcastle Committee of the Institute of Chartered Accountants.

This means that he has the experience, diversity of knowledge and passion to mentor businesses like yours. As a business owner himself he understands the issues, challenges and concerns facing you.

He has assisted literally hundred’s of businesses, specialising in business advisory including; tax minimization; business structuring and business valuations, for both buyers and sellers. 

Troy’s philosophy is to add value by providing business owners with the business and lifestyle goals they desire, whether that involves increasing; your revenue; your profit; your wealth or your time with family.
